The Board approved the settlement of three lawsuits: one filed by Penny Mims against the City and County of San Francisco and individual defendant Dorian Carr for $150,000 involving an employment dispute; one filed by I.H., a Minor, against the City and County of San Francisco for $100,000 involving alleged civil rights violations at the Juvenile Justice Center; and one filed by Fanny Lam against the City and County of San Francisco for $375,000 involving personal injuries arising from a trip and fall accident on O’Farrell Street.

Amendment of the Administrative Code regarding Cleaning Standards and Health Information Protocols for Single Room Occupancy Hotels.

The Board approved an ordinance amending the Administrative Code to update protections for occupants of Single Room Occupancy (SRO) hotels by replacing cleaning responsibilities after a COVID-19 outbreak with new minimum cleaning standards, requiring contact tracing information related to infectious diseases, and updating COVID-19 regulations.

The Board approved an ordinance amending the Park Code to adopt the Golden Gate Park Access and Safety Program, including restricting private vehicles on certain slow street segments in Golden Gate Park, making certain street segments one-way, and establishing bicycle lanes.

The Board passed on first reading an ordinance authorizing settlement of the lawsuit filed by the City and County of San Francisco against Fong & Chan Architects, Inc. for a net payment to San Francisco of $6,600,000 and another authorizing settlement of the lawsuit filed by the City and County of San Francisco against Pacific Gas & Electric Company for $6,750,000.
